For stained or discoloured teeth bleaching can lighten teeth that haven't responded sufficiently to professional cleaning. It is a safe procedure when undertaken with a qualified dental professional.
Here at Southern Dental Care we provide two teeth whitening services.
Take Home Whitening Trays
For your initial appointment, moulds are taken of your mouth and then from those, individual trays are made to fit you exactly. These take approximately one week to be made. When your trays are collected you will receive whitening gel which is to be used for two weeks for thirty minutes every day, and after two weeks your teeth will be much brighter and whiter.

In-Office Whitening
This procedure provides the same results as the take-home whitening but it is all done in one sitting. Your appointment with our dental hygienist will be between one and two hours where the solution will be placed on your teeth until they get to a shade that you desire. The whitening solution is a lot stronger then the take-home whitening and therefore the results are immediate. We also make you some take-home trays to continue whitening at home.

Whitening Program
We have introduced a new concept into our practice known as the Whitening Program.
The Whitening Program is available to all patients who have previously had teeth whitening in our practice, used the take home whitening system or proceed with a new teeth whitening system.
When you attend your preventive care visits with Alexandra we will give you, at no charge, whitening gel for you to use at home, and we will keep offering this to you at each of your subsequent visits as a reward for your commitment to oral care. This will ensure that you have a continuous white and bright smile.
To participate in this program, you must honour your regular preventive care appointments recommended by our practice. This will ensure that we can maintain your healthy and beautiful smile and help reduce your dental expenditures in the future.
